The Sanctuary 32 is our introduction to a large expandable aquaponics system. Out of the box this system offers 32 square feet of produce grow space with plenty of room to expand by purchasing additional beds.
The standard setup ships with a 300 gallon fish tank, one media bed, and one raft. The minimum space required is an 8' X 8' area.
This system has the potential to perpetually feed one person year round. Or it could be used to supplement food needs with an organic produce and fish garden.
The Sanctuary 32 system offers 32 square feet of grow space (hence the number in the name) and can be expanded all the way up to 128 square feet of grow space. If it were to be expanded completely it would end up becoming the Sanctuary 128 system.

Plug & Play Proven Systems
Roto-Molded tanks are USDA & FDA food grade approved plastics that will not leech or cause harm to humans or fish. Careful attention to detail and rigorous engineering has gone into the design of every kit along with years of proven results using the CHOP 1&2 system originally used by Murray Hallam of Practical Aquaponics.au.
Our kits are made for the ultimate ease in assembly and go together in just a few minutes. They are designed to allow expansion of your growing area later. They are pre-assembled & do NOT require any drilling or cutting. Our goal is for you to be up and running in a few minutes with no need for a trip to the hardware store. All you need is a level place for the tanks.
System Layout
The above system is the basic foundational system called the Sancturary 32. It consists of a 300 gallon fish tank, 1 clay pebble media bed and 1 floating raft bed. It has a total of 32 square feet of growing space and it requires a minimum space of 8'X10'. To have a 16" walkway between the beds you would need an 8'X10' space. Below is a breakdown of the kit sizes.
Site Preparation
You will need a level place for the tanks to rest and plenty of sunlight. Keep in mind the direction the sun travels and how much will be available to the grow beds. Be careful of overhangs and shade trees that might block the sun in the winter (the sun is much lower in the sky during winter). Depending on your geographic location, a greenhouse usually generates the best results since the temperature can be controlled. If you plan to grow Tilapia, they need the water temperature to be between 55 and 95F. Depending on where you live, you may need a tank heater or for hot places like Phoenix you must keep the tank shaded. Also keep in mind runoff from a roof, do not place any tanks under a gutter spout or other high runoff area.
